Training is at the core of research degree programmes at the Royal College of Art. All research students attend the mandatory Research Methods Course (recently cited as an example of good practice by the QAAHE), which provides training in both generic and subject-specific research skills and addresses research methodologies in art and design, with particular reference to research through practice. Individual programmes also provide research training sessions and seminars to their students, tailored to their own subject areas. Students are also encouraged to attend the Library Skills Workshops that run during the autumn term. Details on internal training resources and courses are available below.
