The new RCA website is designed to be simple, visually appealing and to deliver a wide range of textual and image content. Each page contains:
- a top banner that 'reflects' the colour of the images on the page
- a central dropdown menu that provides up to five levels of navigation options
- a search box
- primary image content (large images that relate directly to the page content)
- primary text content (black)
- related images (small, colour hyperlink images)
- related text (grey)
On any page, you can choose to view the content with a text priority (smaller image) or an image priority (larger image view) by clicking on the image and using your browser 'Back' button to return to the text view.
Web Browsers
The RCA website is optimised for viewing in Firefox (Mac or PC, version 3.0 and above).
The following browsers are also supported:
Microsoft Internet Explorer (PC, version 6 or above)
Safari (Mac, version 3 or above)
Chrome (version 5 or above).
Main Navigation
Navigation is accessed through four routes:
- The central dropdown menu, which allows you to locate the
pages that you need and provides a ‘breadcrumb’ trail so that you can
retrace your steps easily.
- On-the-page text links, which
allow you to choose other pages in the section that you are viewing
(Other content in this section), as well as related content in other
parts of the site (Content you may find useful)
- Image links, which offer a different selection of related content
- Search,
which has been designed to return a range of options for each search
term, organised by Content Areas and displaying types of content (image, file, etc.)
in order to usefully refine results
To return to the Home Page, click on 'Royal College of Art' in the top, left-hand corner of any page.
