Clare Carolin is Deputy Head of the CCA MA programme at the Royal College of Art and a freelance curator and writer based in London. From 1999 to 2006 she was Curator at the Hayward Gallery where she curated and organised numerous exhibitions including Eyes, Lies and Illusions: The Art of Deception (with Werner Nekes and Marina Warner), Universal Experience: Art, Life and the Tourist's Eye (with Francesco Bonami), Warte Mal: Prostitution after the Velvet Revolution and Facts of Life: Contemporary Art from Japan (with Jonathan Watkins), as well as major retrospectives of the work of Panamarenko, Sam Taylor-Wood and Malcolm Morley. While at the Hayward she also produced touring projects for the National Touring Exhibitions programme including Fantasy Architecture: 1500-2036, Incommunicado and A Secret Service: Art, Compulsion, Concealment .
Her writing and interviews have appeared in various exhibition catalogues and in Kalias: Revista de Arte, La Vanguardia de Barcelona, Contemporary, The Art Newspaper, artnet.com and The Brooklyn Rail.
