Research is an integral part of solving communication problems; based on the believe that the ‘design voice’ in all cases is not the voice of the designer, but the reflected voice of the audience that helps to inform the work. Jeff Willis’ research activities have allowed him to produce publications for schools for Key Stage 3 learning and site-specific exhibitions informing the public about their environment, ecology and industrial significance. Through research he is committed to promoting a greater sense of tolerance in our society, and the raising of our social consciousness, of personal and collective responsibilities. His work is sited in places that reach the public, it is intended to ‘educate, inform and entertain’.
