Tristan Webber graduated with a BA and MA in Womenswear from Central
Saint Martins College of Art & Design in 1997. His two
dissertations, one questioning role of the human in the Information
Age, the second investigating the apparent upsurge in the luxury goods
market, were clear precursors to later work.
He went on to
establish a design label under his own name. His intention was to
establish a brand that revisited the traditional concept of the garment
as modern heirloom, whilst exploring forward-thinking techniques and
processes for the generation of the design and its manufacture.
Concepts
of value are still central to his work through the use of luxury
materials, within the integrity of the design process, and by his
attention to lack of waste in the make.
Tristan has led the brand
for ten years, with a number of commissions and various exhibited
works, and in that time has added footwear, accessory, and interior
design to his range.
