  • The increasing acceleration of daily rhythms in urban contexts leaves little time for one to appreciate the surrounding cityscape. Public space, as a ground for interaction, has been highly institutionalised leaving almost no scope for ad hoc interventions. Cultures clash within the public realm when immigration becomes an obstacle for social integration. This project brings the notion of local and global, domestic and public together in a master plan for a re- imagined New Covent Garden Market made of small elements of surprise, where the boundary between private and public is blurred and a reinvention of social public space emerges.
