In my films I combine experimental animation with live-action footage. I try to explore the affinities between fiction and documentary, between the imagination, memory and the things we feel are real. These have been stories about children and women, about social and environmental history, or more simply drawn from observations of everyday life.

Writing and illustrating children’s books, and black-and-white photography are among my other interests.
