The body is my main focus: the body and all its visceral gore. I am intrigued by what we deem as abject as a society, what these boundaries are, and want to question these taboos. When making work I desire to have a personal motive – this way it feels honest. The development of my ideas takes place in a visual diary, through the personal touch of drawing. Drawing has always been a cathartic process for me, and print has the ability to transform the autographic mark, amplifying its authority and power. What I love most about prints, especially lino cuts, is the serendipitous nature of the marks made.
