  • The paintings use systems of logic, order and value, such as composition, symmetry and perspective, and attempt to undermine them so that they operate through a type of default representation.

A subjective illusionary space is offered, alluding to architecture but always returning to the image as a formal construct.

The images are preoccupied with the deception of pictorial space, the planes of colour offering multiple possibilities of viewing so that the viewer’s perception of the subject is constantly shifting.

The work composes symbols of belief; geometry, colour, the abstract and the spiritual, into a central theme of belief in painting.
