The importance of drawing is recognised within every single discipline of the College. The Drawing Studio, managed by the School of Fine Art, aims to support students from across the whole College. It seeks to cater for students who wish to experiment with new approaches to drawing as part of their personal development as artists and designers, as well as those who simply want to improve their drawing skills in more traditional ways.
There are opportunities throughout the year to engage in a wide spectrum of drawing activities:
- daytime and evening classes
- The ‘Lab’ programme
- experimental workshops
- anatomy courses
- forensic reconstruction courses
- Soundscape Workshops – free drawing and free improvisation
- Imagine Alive
- natural forms
In addition to these college-wide activities, some programmes work closely with the Drawing Studio staff to provide specialist drawing classes within their own MA curriculum: details are available from the programmes concerned.
