    MPhil/PhD Entrance Requirements

  • Programme Requirements

You are advised to make early contact with the programme Research Coordinator, Professor Hans Stofer, for preliminary discussion of your ideas for research and how these might be worked up as a formal application.

You must submit a 1,000-word research proposal, which should be accompanied by a bibliography. For MPhil and PhD by project, you should also submit a portfolio illustrating your prior achievements and background to the proposal. For MPhil and PhD by thesis, you should also provide evidence of preliminary study and previously completed written work.

The suitability of any proposed project or thesis is judged by its potential to enrich and enlarge the practice and understanding of GSM&J research.
