    Bursaries & Other Funds – UK and EU Students

  • The College Bursary Scheme – England, Wales, Northern Ireland, Scotland, EU MA/MPhil Students

    The College currently administers a bursary scheme for full-time students from England, Wales, Northern Ireland, Scotland and other EU countries. The amount offered for each bursary will be £3,000. Applicants who are offered a place will be given further details with their offer letter, provided they are eligible. EU nationals may apply for a fees award if they have been ordinarily resident in the EU throughout the period of three years immediately preceding their application. In 2011/12:

    • 86% of eligible Home and 82% of eligible EU first-year students received a fees bursary of £3000
    • 86% of eligible Home and 87% of eligible EU second-year students received a fees bursary of £3000
    Please note:
    • if you are eligible, you should not assume you will automatically have your fees paid
    • PhD students are not eligible to apply to the College bursary scheme
    • if you obtain a bursary you will be required to pay the difference between the fees payable by the bursary and the College tuition fees
    • unfortunately, we cannot open our bursary scheme to international students. Please see Non-EU Bursary Scheme.

    Bursaries – Channel Islands and Isle of Man Students

    If you are resident in the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man, their respective education authorities operate their own schemes, which provides the same benefits as the College Bursary Scheme. If you obtain a bursary under any of the above arrangements, you will be required to pay the difference between the fees payable by the bursary and the College tuition fees.

    Career Development Loans – UK Students

    If you are a UK applicant you may be eligible for a Career Development Loan, more information is available online at Directgov or by calling 0800 585 505. If you are considering applying for a CDL, or if you have applied for a CDL and have been rejected, or are considering any other loan through a bank, please contact the Student Support Officer on +44 (0)20 7590 4140 for advice before taking further action.

    The Access Fund – UK Students

    The College administers this fund to provide help if, because of a lack of alternative funding, you face financial difficulties (details are available only once you are registered on the first day of the academic year).
