  • Many art and design students go on to become leaders and innovators, the foremost practitioners in their fields. Dynamic and bold new designs such as the Ford Ka, the revolutionary rolling bridge at Paddington Basin or a wheel that has literally been reinvented are the work of recent graduates. So too are the images that adorn the recent limited edition Becks Canvas bottles, or the new public sculpture in Battersea Park, a stone's throw from sculpture by fellow alumni Barbara Hepworth and Henry Moore.

People come from all over the world to study at the College. That much talent, made up of individuals from so many backgrounds, all in one place, creates a buzz you won’t find anywhere else. Whether you're an artist or designer, you get to mix with others planning careers in glass making, fashion, curating and graphic design. Their shared passion and interests will inspire you and help you to see your own discipline in a broader context.

We are proud of the sense of community that having one of the most concentrated networks of artists and designers to be found anywhere on the planet inspires. As one former student observed, the RCA is both “small enough to know everyone, and large enough to allow individualism.” It is, another observed, “like a family”. Many ex-students say the connections made here have been invaluable in their later professional lives.

You can find stories from just some of those who have studied or are studying at the RCA here in this section of the site.
