  • What is ReachOutRCA?

ReachOutRCA is the schools’ outreach programme of the Royal College of Art. Our artists, designers and makers work with you on creative projects giving you a chance to be make work and explore ideas outside of your usual school lessons.

What is the Royal College of Art?

The Royal College of Art is the world’s only postgraduate college of art and design. This means that most RCA students have already graduated from another college with a BA degree. They might have worked in industry or practised as an artist or designer before coming to the RCA to study, but there is no fixed route. Our students come from all over the world, so your workshop leader could be from  Japan, America, Iran, Denmark, Ghana, or even London born and bred.

RCA departments include Animation; Architecture; Ceramics & Glass; Communication Art & Design; Conservation; Curating Contemporary Art; Design Interactions; Design Products; Fashion; Goldsmithing, Silversmithing, Metalwork & Jewellery; History of Design; Industrial Design Engineering; Painting; Photography; Printmaking; Sculpture; Textiles; Vehicle Design.

Students often work in ways that cross disciplines; sculptors make films, photographers draw, graphic designers make sculptures. They ask questions, are curious and imaginative and passionate about the work they make and will expect the same attitude from you.
