    Working Together

  • Our programme is intended to be a learning process for everyone; we hope that you will find the creative exchanges with workshops leaders and the opportunity to work with your pupils beyond the curriculum to be inspiring.

The workshops are an introduction to an artist, designer or maker and their practice, to new ways of working and looking, and to the possibilities of a life in art or design. Workshops are not directed by the school curriculum however you will find many ways to link the content and ideas with learning objectives.

We aim to work particularly with pupils who express a particular creative interest or aptitude. We invite them to take responsibility for their future direction by negotiating challenges and being active participants in the success of their workshop. We hope that workshops will develop confidence and critical thinking by encouraging a questioning and playful response, and offer an opportunity for pupils to find a voice that may not have been apparent before.

ReachOutRCA offers an invaluable opportunity for teachers to work alongside those at the forefront of contemporary art and design practice, giving them observation and participation time outside the demands of a curriculum-led day. By working with teachers as well as pupils we aim to contribute to increasing diversity in higher education and widen the reach of our programme.

Please contact us at reachout@rca.ac.uk to discuss opportunities for working together.
