As a continually growing programme we can offer our partners a fantastic association with the international student and staff body of the RCA, creative professionals and other sponsors. Our work within schools means we also reach Greater London communities and can offer strong brand positioning, in exhibitions, websites and publications.
ReachOutRCA works with the museums, galleries and agencies on a series of projects, which we continue to expand year on year, promoting strong, sustainable collaborative practice. See below for some examples.
Inspiration & Investigation brought RCA artists and Imperial College scientists together to lead joint workshops for A Level pupils, inspired by works in the V&A collections.
In Encountering the Collection, RCA students used the V&A archives to develop design workshops to be delivered to schools at the V&A.
2008’s main collaboration is between ourselves and the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust and the Crafts Council on Revival, an exciting collaboration that explores the meaning and making of craft. RCA graduates have developed workshops that illuminate their distinctive practices, invite active participation and bring significant objects from the Crafts Council’s collection into the classroom.
As part of Creative Quarter, an introduction to the creative industries for 14-19 year olds, South Kensington institutions the V&A, the Goethe-Institut, the RCA and Imperial College, run workshops, talks and demonstrations about. RCA students and alumni worked with ReachOutRCA and the V&A to deliver workshops and discussions about their practice.
In association with the Big Draw and the Royal Academy of Engineers we coordinated Drawing on Design, a series of workshops that brought designers into the classroom. The project was Highly Commended at the Big Draw’s Drawing Inspiration Awards.
