Since our establishment in 2005 we have worked with schools from the boroughs of Hackney, Haringey, Erith, Westminster, Croydon, Blackheath, Wandsworth, Peckham, Hammersmith & Fulham, Newham, Leytonstone, Camden, Greenwich and Kensington & Chelsea.

During 2006/7 ReachOutRCA activities involved 700 school pupils, 60 teachers and 50 RCA students and alumni. In 2007’s Great Exhibition workshops we worked with 143 pupils and 25 pupils from 10 London state secondary schools, chosen from Deutsche Bank’s priority schools list. None of these schools had specialist arts status and where possible we have continued working with them within our main programme.

Each summer we run one free teacher’s workshop for continuous professional development, where teachers visit the RCA and work in groups and individually on a creative project. Between 2005-8, we have engaged 45 teachers from 10 schools.

ReachOutRCA was awarded Highly Commended in 2007’s Big Draw awards for our project Drawing On Design.
