The Research Office is responsible for all aspects of RCA staff and student research, convenes the Research Methods Course for students and provides an extensive training programme for staff.
Professor Jeremy Aynsley is a member of the Senior Management Team. He is Chair of the Research Committee and the REF2014 Working Group. He is responsible for all aspects of RCA staff and student research, including cross-College research policy and strategy, all funding and recruitment initiatives, as well as support and development of practice-led research. He is a member of the Research Committee of London Higher and a member of the AHRC Peer Review College.

Martina Margetts convenes and chairs
the Research Methods Course, which runs through the academic year for
research students. She is also available by appointment (Tuesday and
Wednesdays) to all research students to discuss any aspect of the RMC or
their general progression at the RCA. She is a member of the Research
Committee and ABCD. Martina is also a Senior Tutor and coordinator of
research in Critical & Historical Studies.

Jamie Gilham supports and advises on
research at the College, specifically staff research and the Research
Excellence Framework 2014 (REF). His role includes: assisting with
research strategies; identifying funding opportunities; helping to
prepare and submit staff funding applications; managing post-award
administration; preparing the College's REF submission. He is also a
member of the College's Research Committee and REF Working Group.

David Robins is the first point of contact for Research Excellence Framework 2014 (REF2014) queries. He is responsible for coordinating the RCA’s REF2014 submission, editing the online Research Repository, collating materials for the physical repository and is Secretary to the Research Committee and the REF Working Group.

Richard Makin is the first point of
contact for Research Student enquiries and is responsible for
coordinating the College's processes for research degree programmes,
including registration, supervision, examination and submissions to the
Academic Board for Concession and Discipline. He is also responsible
for administering the Research Methods Course and assisting with
students' applications to the AHRC Studentship Competition and other
awards.
