Since 2001, the RCA has received £2,522,307 from the AHRC for staff projects: the AHRC Research Centres Scheme award, £846,208 (Aynsley: 2001); AHRC Research Grant, £248,85 (Aynsley: 2006); £150,625 (Watkins: 2005); (Keiller: 2006); AHRC Designing for the 21st Century (Myerson: 2006); four AHRC Research Leave awards (Ash: 2006; Crowley: 2006; Narotzky: 2006; Rees: 2004); four AHRC Research Fellowships (Batchelor: 2002; Chandra: 2002; Levy: 2006; Keiller: 2006); AHRC grant for RCA Collection, £25,000 (Frayling: 2006); three AHRC Small Grants (LeQuesne: 2006; Robins: 2002; Rome: 2001); AHRC ICT Methods Network, £70,000 (Kemp: 2001).
In addition, the RCA has received £1,350,000 from the AHRC in
research studentships and also two FCT (Portugal), one Calouste
Gulbenkian Foundation, one Commonwealth Fellowship, two CAPES (Brazil),
three CNPQ Brazilian Government and one Japanese Foundation
studentships, plus two student bursaries from both Hyundai and Kia, and
one annual studentship from the Worshipful Company of Coachmakers.
EPSRC-funded
research programmes include the redesign of emergency mobile healthcare
services with Loughborough University, £211,644 (Harrow), and the
redesign of the resuscitation trolley, £280,332 (Coleman), in
collaboration with the Engineering Design Centre, University of
Cambridge, plus a public understanding of science for Future Face,
£49,000 (Kemp). The RCA has also received four EPSRC studentships and
has an EPSRC Collaborative Training Account, £608,207 (Barker). The
total awarded from the EPSRC is £5,363,018, including the collaborative
i-design project, and £24,000 from RCUK.
