This series of seminars and workshops will focus on the notion of drawing as a thought process that can be made manifest, as a way of enabling the artist/designer to witness an idea evolve. From looking at accepted modes of visually representing a conceptual development, such as the diagram, the story-board, a piece of illustration, or design template, to dealing with broader issues of translation, encryption and influence, the aim of these sessions will be to embrace a visual/conceptual vocabulary through drawing, which would become an integral part of individual research. We therefore invite the students to interpret ideas discussed in the seminars, within the parameters of their own project and discipline, and incorporate drawing as part of their future methodology.
