  • Lynn Wray’s Statement

My work is heavily research-based, fuelled by a desire to communicate essentially verbal ideas, visually. I do not work in one specific media, discipline or style; the common identity which unifies the work is that all of these aspects are determined by the concept.

I am interested in varying ideals of civilisation and the enforcement of these notions onto communities. Within this broad theme I have investigated the impact of exploration, the ideology of empire and regeneration imagery.

I aim to continue making work which responds to external questions and that exists outside the confines of the art world.
