  • Rachel Gannon’s Statement

My illustrations are about the human condition, relationships and ordinary life. Although some of my work is very much rooted in fiction and the past, the themes of loss, dissatisfaction, love, adultery and identity are timeless.

I am influenced by novels, drawing on the bus, reportage photography and told stories. Most of my illustrations are a combination of collage and drawing, they appear low-tech and hand made.

I aim to continue to get commissions as an individual illustrator as well as working within Ink - an illustration collective made up of three graduating RCA students.
