  • Kaori Ueda’s Statement

The nostalgic huge pattern used in Swedish traditional embroidery and 3D tender touch produced by Japanese Shibori technique, are the backbone of my fabrics for fashion garments.

To express my taste in my work, I employ a seamless structure, and develop the construction techniques with a contrast of materials.

The design and colour are inspired by my double exposed photographs and original drawings that focus on nature and folk craft motifs, particularly Scandinavian winter forest in a quiet and cool atmosphere.

The fabrics that I develop have the potential to be used for high-end couture garments and accessories.
