  • David Sweeney’s Statement

We trust what we smell, whether something is clean, mouldy or poisonous. Smells are decoded in the background, and they possess the ability to shift our perceptive and emotional states.

With this project, I intend to harness our brain's ability to learn through an ambient, olfactory channel. Some of our daily load of information could be communicated over this subconscious route, triggering instinctive awareness of external activity.

Imagine that the changing ambient scent that surrounds you could guide you through complex tasks; shifting your awareness towards updated information, methods and goals.
