ADS 4: St Thomas’ Hospital, Lambeth, London

    HAPPILY EVER AFTER

We are facing an aging population, a declining birth rate, a rising divorce rate and a shrinking workforce.

Some current trends are changing the fabric of social relations. By 2029 the NHS will be financially crippled by baby boomers' new demands for services and resources relating to health, beauty and longevity. As inter-generational conflict diminishes confidence in the NHS, Lambeth will play host to a revolutionary brand of regenerative healthcare that capitalises on the paucity of medical care resources. Can architecture manipulate the medical environment to revolutionise healthcare? Instead of instilling fear, could we learn to trust it?
